
DPS Testing (Ages 16 & 17)

If you are 16 or 17 years old and have a learner license, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

Have held a learner license for at least six months. This can be determined if the “F” restriction date on your learner license has been met.

Have completed your classroom and behind-the-wheel driver as part of a Minors Driver Education Course. You will need to provide a copy of your DE-964 driver's license certificate.

Completed the Impact Texas Teen Driver education program within the past 90 days. You will need to provide a copy of your certificate.

Complete a DL Application for Minor (form DL-14b). A notary is not needed, as the Department employee serves as the notary for this application.
