If you turned 18 in the midst of completing your teen course,

all requirements associated with teen course must be fulfilled prior to testing

or you may take the 6 hour Adult course. 

Requirements are as follows:

• Must have held Permit for 6 months

• D964 (Green Half Sheet Drivers License Certificate)

• Completed 7 Drive Hours with your driving school

• 30 Hours with a parent

• IMPACT for Teens (2 hour online course)

If you are 18 and over, you must meet ALL of the following criteria:

• Currently hold a driver license with a “B” restriction for “licensed operator in the front seat”

• Complete the IMPACT Texas Young/Adult Driver education one hour online program within the past 90 days. 

• You will need to provide a copy of your certificate.
